Natural Vision

Living close to an urban nature center inspired these homeowners to remake their sloped front lawn into an extension of the nature center. Native grasses, sedges, and flowers dominate while culinary herbs are tucked in strategically to help deter the plentiful wildlife from making the yard their salad bar. Of course, the homeowners put the culinary herbs to good use in their own kitchen.

Most of the front lawn was replaced with culinary herbs, Michigan native plants and some of the owners favorite flowers.

A beautiful combination of pink peony, platinum blonde lavender, and red valerian (Jupiter’s beard) with driftwood.

Thyme in bloom with daisy, oregano, and yarrow.
